Cloud Run scales deployed containers with traffic, including down to zero. It fits teams that need standard containers with less server management.
As of 2026-10, the us-central1 request-based free tier includes 2 million requests, 180,000 vCPU-seconds, and 360,000 GiB-seconds monthly. Overage is $0.40 per million requests, $0.000024/vCPU-second, and $0.0000025/GiB-second. Instance-based billing uses different allowances and rates.
Duration, memory, and concurrency change the bill even with the same request count. Internet egress is separately priced by region. The demo simplifies to us-central1, 1 vCPU, 0.25 GiB, 200 ms per request, and concurrency one.
When to use
Choose Cloud Run for standard containers with scale-to-zero; compare Workers for short edge APIs and Fly.io for direct regional Machine placement.
