AWS Amplify Hosting builds and deploys frontend repositories with CDN delivery and SSR. It is useful when running a web app alongside other AWS services and tracking separate billing units.
As of 2026-10, eligible free usage includes 1,000 Standard build minutes, 5 GB CDN storage, 15 GB data transfer, 500,000 SSR requests, and 100 GB-hours SSR monthly. Beyond eligibility or allowances, Standard builds cost $0.01/minute, storage $0.023/GB-month, transfer $0.15/GB, and SSR $0.30/million requests plus $0.20/GB-hour.
AWS’s page simultaneously mentions a six-month new-customer free plan and a twelve-month Amplify Free Tier table. Check account-specific eligibility. The demo computes static transfer only for an eligible account.
When to use
Use Amplify when a web app belongs in an AWS bill; compare Cloudflare Pages for static transfer and Netlify for credit-based limits.
