OpenAPI 3.2 parent and kind organize operation tags into a documentation hierarchy.

An OpenAPI Path Item has fixed fields for common methods such as GET and POST. In 3.2, additionalOperations is a map for other HTTP method names. The specification can describe a COPY operation with the same Operation Object structure used elsewhere.

The demo adds COPY /items/{id} to the description and reveals a new operation card. Describability is separate from actual server or proxy support, which must be tested in the deployment path.

When to use

Use it when an API contract must describe a method outside OpenAPI fixed operation fields.
