Replication lets another server follow changes on a primary. Replicas can serve reads and provide a recovery path.
The demo shows a replica log position catching up with the primary. With asynchronous replication, a replica may briefly return older data; reads that must immediately see a write need to account for lag.
When to use
Use replication for read distribution or recovery, with an explicit lag tolerance.
