This calculator applies the same runtime to roughly 2-vCPU, 4-GB VMs in each provider’s reference region. At 730 hours, Oracle A1 is $0 within home-region Always Free limits; Hetzner CX23 is €5.49 (official USD quote $6.49); DigitalOcean and Akamai/Linode are $24 each; Google e2-medium is about $24.46; AWS t4g.medium is $24.53; and Azure B2als v2 is $27.45.
Hetzner uses NBG1, DigitalOcean sgp1, Akamai/Linode Tokyo, and AWS, Google, and Azure their stated US regions. The Hetzner bar uses its official USD quote, not a currency conversion. Oracle A1 and AWS t4g use Arm; Oracle needs home-region capacity, while GCP e2-medium has shared cores. Equal vCPU counts do not imply equal CPU performance.
The calculation excludes separate disk, IP, and egress for AWS, Google, and Azure. Included disk and transfer vary by bundle. Hetzner tax and IPv4 are extra, and availability needs checking. Increasing VM count draws down Oracle’s two free-hour pools in aggregate. Official prices as of 2026-10.
